It’s always an interesting process trying to get into the holiday spirit when its 95-degrees outside in sunny Southern California. It’s easier to make sand angels at the beach than snow angels on your front lawn. I wish I could throw on a scarf, gloves and pea coat to pretend it was December, but I think I’d look ridiculous when I go out for lunch.

We’ve been spending the past few weeks wrapping our heads around the unbelievably fast-approaching holiday season. We’ve set up a miniature Christmas tree in the Design Department and decked it out with Envelopments products. Favor Containers filled with different snacks make for a great mid-afternoon pick-me-up and replace conventional ornaments.

Listening to holiday tunes also helps when designing and because “everything old is new again,” my playlist includes a re-mastered collection of classic seasonal songs blended with up-beat jazz and a hint of hip-hop. These albums helps us feel festive and inspires us to design holiday samples in both modern and traditional tones. There are some fantastic songs that are not only great when designing, but are also great as the soundtrack to a winter cocktail party:
Winter Wonderland (Rise Ashen’s Brazilian Beach Mix) – Johnny Mercer
It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year (A Shift Remix) – Andy Williams
Baby It’s Cold Outside (Mulato Beat Remix) – Louis Armstrong & Velma Middleton
Happy Holiday (Beef Wellington Remix) – Bing Crosby
The Christmas Song (Michael Kessler Open Fire Mix) – Mel Torme
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas (MNO Remix) – Rosemary Clooney

We’ve spent the past few weeks developing a new product offered in a selection of Envelopments colors only for the holiday season. The new shape will be available in 5×5, 5×7 Landscape and 5×7 Portrait. We can’t wait to unveil this innovative product in the upcoming weeks, and just like a kid in December, you’ll have to wait just a little bit longer. No peeking, but here’s a hint… It’s perfect for showing off your festive holiday photos.
As the season approaches, make your mailing list, check it twice and remember to visit your local Envelopments Dealer/Designer for your custom holiday cards.

Ahhh!!…you guys are simply the best…what a fabulous way to display your products. If creativity was a sin you guys would have to work from the church altar. Great job I love it!
i already have clients calling about their holiday cards…can’t wait to see what envelopments has up their sleeves for them!
You guys are real troopers… I’ve been thinking I should start working on new holiday card designs, but I can’t bring myself to think of snow when it’s 85 and sunny in Chicago!
Love the patterned boxes

I have to admit–I’m a bit of a grinch come holiday season! The cold weather doesn’t do me any good, never mind the stress of traveling, shopping and extended time with my nutty family! But I’m super excited to start playing around with Envelopments products for my clients at holiday time this year–who knows, if I get my act together, maybe i’ll even get my OWN holiday card out this year!
LOL, Alissa. I hear ya! Back when I worked in Deborah and Holly’s stationery store, the staff was more likely to send Valentine’s or St. Patrick’s Day cards than holiday greetings. Here’s my piece of advice (which might land you on the NAUGHTY LIST): I’m sure you’ll have dozens of beautiful custom cards you’re adding to your repertoire this season. Choose your favorite piece that you’ve designed and plug in your own info. Mums the word, your secret’s safe with me. But if you’re determined to make it onto the NICE LIST, start sifting through your photo albums… we’re getting ready to release a new product that can accommodate photos in 3 x 3” and 3.25 x 4.75” sizes. Happy holidays and best of luck this season!
