TEAM: Together Everyone Achieves More

I recently had the opportunity to talk with two Envelopments Dealer/Designers that have struck up a collaborative arrangement. I was inspired to reach out to them after seeing some tweets featuring their collaborations because I was curious to learn how they’re working together to do great work. Trini Randazzo (Nozza Studio) has been an Envelopments Dealer/Designer since 2007 and met Monica Majors (Paper Cut Industries) via Twitter. Trini was impressed by Monica’s design work and, once they found out they were in the same city, the two began working together soon after.

Trini runs a Wedding Planning business and also has a retail store where she sells multiple lines including Envelopments and Monica’s flat card designs. Monica’s shop is just across town, and they have found that the same bride may shop both of their stores. Still, “there’s enough business to go around,” Trini says, “the goal is to make the client happy.” When Trini is working with a bride, she’ll provide the “art direction” and Monica will do the graphic design for the wedding stationery. At the same time, Monica recommends Trini for clients looking for a planner.

For Monica, “it’s great that Trini can introduce me to new clients and bring me in to markets that I am not connected to. The fact that we both use Envelopments makes the collaboration work because we both have access to the artwork and understand the product line.” Trini agrees, “the tools are so much better than when I first started. Having the Design Studio and the on-line tools like the PMS and CMYK colors, makes the collaborative process so much easier.” And it’s nice for me to hear that the link between them is their common use of Envelopments products.

The collaboration and cross-promotion has worked out really well for both Trini and Monica, and they encourage others to think more openly about these opportunities, too. As Trini puts it, “people should stop worrying about what everyone else is doing and who stole your idea. Just do what you do and by networking and sharing ideas, your business will grow. Two heads are better than one.”

See and learn more about Trini and Monica here and check out this example of their collaboration: this project includes Monica’s designs and the work of another local artist, brought together under Trini’s “art direction.” Beautiful!

    Tom,

Thank you so much for taking the time to interview us. I’ve been blessed to work with so many talented people in our industry. Both Monica of Paper Cut Industries and Gamie of Peach Mail Box have been a huge part of NOZZA’s success. I’m always looking for new talented people that I can work with or show case their own lines in my studio. I hope more people can see the benefit of collaborating.

    Thanks again!

    Trini
